Crafting the Brand Film for SAIL Amsterdam 2025
We created and produced the brand film for SAIL Amsterdam 2025, the world’s largest nautical event, returning next year to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Director Tom Sibma: “I saw a great challenge in conveying the nautical feeling without showing ships on screen. That would have been too obvious. Instead, I saw an exciting opportunity to make it whole and human, with a clear connection to the past and a fresh outlook on the future.” The goal was to create a film that appeals to both those familiar with SAIL from past editions and the younger generation who missed the event due to its cancellation five years ago.

Joshua Petit, composer at Soundsright, responsible for the score and sound design, adds: “We combined traditional sea shanties with modern cinematic sounds to create a unique sound that embraces both the past and present. The story is told by a young, immersive voice, interspersed with a powerful sailor’s choir, reflecting the different generations in the film.
